BAL-timore 2019: BAL-timore Returns!
Baltimore, Maryland, United States
Friday 8th to Sunday 10th of March 2019
Duration: 3 days
BAL-timore is back so let's Bal-some more! We are thrilled to welcome back Sylvia Sykes and Javier Johnson from 2018. They will be joined this time by the incomparable Mickey Fortanasce and Jennifer Lee.
We will be offering two tracks, so whether you're working on that Bal-Swing basic or you're looking to finesse your footwork, we have something for you.
We will be offering 8 hours of classes from four of the top instructors in Balboa at Mobtown Ballroom and The Ideal Art Space in Hampden.
Because we loved them so much, we are bringing back Mimi and Jeff Liu-Leyco, who are prominent swing dancers, DJs, and teacher from New York City!
Strictly Balboa - In classic strictly fashion, you enter this competition with a partner.
Balboa Mix & Match - Enter this partner solo and get randomly paired with a partner. We will rotate three times so that each contestant dances with three different partners in the pre-lims. Contestants will be randomly paired with a single partner for the finals. This competition is open to dancers of all levels, but you must do Balboa.
Spirit of Mobtown Balboa Edition - Formally known as the "Michael A. Seguin Semi-Annual Balboa Championships," this competition is meant to uphold Mobtown's longstanding tradition of not taking anything too seriously. This competition will be free, open to anyone, and judged purely on showmanship. While you do need to do Balboa, you are free to dress up, add your own flare, and put on a show.
Prizes include passes to:
Balboa Blowout (Denver, CO)
**PRICING & REGISTRATION**
Registration will be up at 9pm EST on September 10, 2018
